Munster Speech and Debate is proudly funded through donations and fundraising. The State of Indiana does not provide funding for extracurricular activities, which means our nationally recognized program depends on the generosity of our community.

Each tournament weekend involves significant expenses, including judge payments, tournament entry fees, supervision, transportation, hotel stays, materials, and other incidentals. On average, we spend over $1,000 per tournament weekend on entry and judging costs alone, and approximately $6,000 each year on judges.

• Recently ranked as the highest-ranked team in Indiana and 51st most active team in the nation by the National Speech and Debate Association (formerly NFL)

Beyond the trophies and rankings, Speech and Debate is a transformative activity that teaches lifelong skills—public speaking, critical thinking, leadership, empathy, and advocacy. Through performance and debate, our students learn to find their voices, speak up, and advocate for change in their schools, communities, and beyond.
